Julie and Julia

It was a fantastic movie. The characters where extremely well played and I loved the plot. Think it chliche of me, but I always wanted to admire someone in that way. I know it's only my second post but if anyone out there is reading this...who do you think is great? Who do you admire in this world?
I can't decide on a single person. But my favourite photographer and photojournalist is Dorothea Lange. And my favourite artist is Georgia O'Keeffe.

Somehow, it seems like Julie and Julia made me think of how I never had a hero in my life. I was always my own person. Is it better to have a hero? Is it better to be so independant that you feel like wandering into oblivion unguided into a life of self unawareness? Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't.

But Julie and Julia really makes you think.

Other than the theological aspects and wonderful acting there was also a fabulous display of casual and dressy clothes. it seems the women in that time- the 1950's that is- really dressed to accomidate their figure and illude attraction. They really put an effort into casual but wearable clothes. From their understated patterned suit dresses to their high-waisted but elegantly belted pants. The clothes in the movie inspired me to rethink my more layed back style to a more vintage style that I had always admired but never got the chance to explore.

I encourage the exploration of things everyone has always wanted to try. To anyone reading, this is your chance.
